Person description
Graduate or equivalent education with transferable skills
Ability to empathise and understand uptake point of different target audiences to unfamiliar information.
Ability to understand fisheries scientific research methodologies, projects and outcomes.
Ability to translate complex concepts into accessible formats and language.
Communication ability with wide range of people.
Creative eye for materials and formats that will engage wide ranging uptake.
Ability to judge and prioritise from large selection of material.
Budget management and cost balance judgement.
Proactive and positive engagement outlook, frame own work timetable and deliver the project efficiently .
Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
Driving licence
Desirable
Knowledge of digital media, website design, photography, video.
Experience of working with children, young people and those with negative educational experiences.
Duties
-
To assess past and current literature on Orkney fisheries research for inclusion in dissemination.
-
Identify target audiences in a minimum of 3 categories including but not limited to; ley adults, young people active fishermen.

Liaise with target groups, their organisations and professionals working with target groups.

Select appropriate material to disseminate.

Investigate delivery methods, balance costs and effectiveness and test prototype material.
-
Commission or produce a range of materials that will engage target groups and beyond

Sense check for material longevity and build in date proofing

Publicise widely using no cost publicity tools.

Produce a minimum of 3 pieces of work.
