Fishing can be a dangerous occupation. The waters around Orkney are some of the most dangerous in the United Kingdom and these dangers can be amplified by the harsh weather conditions Orkney faces for much of the year.
In 2017 OFA was able to secure an EMFF grant to help supply Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs) and life rafts to all those who needed them.
